ChatGPT an underdog took a bit more than two months to reach more than 100 million users and wake a hibernating bear.
Google’s chief executive Sundar Pichai recently announced a new conversational Ai service called BARD in a blog post on Monday. The Third largest technology firm in the world is directly aiming towards its next largest rival, a whooping amount of at least $11 billion has been invested into the non-profit firm called OpenAI.
How is this new tool BARD different from ChatGPT?
When it comes to reach, access to information, and the types of media it offers, Bard has the advantage.
ChatGPt is however overcrowded and plagiarizes sometimes, but still has the capability of providing accurate answers for a wide range of topics. Microsoft now plans to integrate Bing with ChatGPT.
BARD has an advantage compared to ChatGPT when it comes to the language it uses, BARD uses Googles lightweight language model for a dialogue application called LaMDA AI model which requires very less computing power, allowing it to provide more feedback even with a large number of users, whereas ChatGPT uses GPT-3.5. Google’s BARD has access to realtime information while ChatGPT is limited to the training on data ending in 2021. Microsoft is planning to use GPT-4 for its integration in order to enhance the data quality. BARD is expected to provide more than just text and will eventually include multimedia (Images, Audio &Videos)
Is it out yet?
Yes and no. A limited number of people will have access to the new service at first, followed by the general public in the coming weeks, the California-based company said.
